Course Learning Outcome #6

“Formulate and articulate a stance through and in your writing.”
Stance is unique. Typically when someone asks for a stance it has a heavy bias, but it wants close to a neutral stance. A stance is neutral, but still needs persuasion. In these assignments we were always told to inform the reader, not give your stance on the assignment.
The stance in my lab report assignment shows a neutral stance. I discuss the results and only the results for the lab. This creates a perspective for the reader based on statistics and facts. Facts and data give no opinionated stances. The word choices in this part of the lab report was chosen not to sound opinionated, but informative. The data and statistics of this lab undeniably persuades the reader that this lab is good for society.
